Uploaded to ZTT's YouTube channel: some rough and ready (but hopefully atmospheric and possibly intriguing) footage from The Art of ZTT, a three-week exhibition of Zang Tuum Tuum record sleeves which is now running at ArtVinyl, London.
Video one features footage from the gallery installation. Video two is a collection of stills from the launch night on 2nd October 2008.
The exhibition explores the mid- and late-80s when ZTT ruled the charts with intelligent, experimental pop from Art of Noise, Propaganda, Frankie Goes To Hollywood and Grace Jones. The 90s and ZTT’s influence on UK dance music is represented by Seal, 808 State, MC Tunes and Shades of Rhythm. And the 00s are represented with early works by The Frames, All Saints and classic work from Shane MacGowan and Kirsty MacColl.
Designers and photographers featured in the exhibition include Accident, Assorted Images, AJ Barratt, Anton Corbijn, Farrow, Jean-Paul Goude, Johnson Panas, The London Design Partnership, Matt Maitland, Me Company, John Stoddart, Stylorouge, T&CP Associates and XL.
The exhibition runs until 22nd October 2008, at:
