Andrew Poppy is Definitely Disco

Tonight sees the start of a major series of new performances from Andrew Poppy on radio and on stage.

Tune into Hear and Now on BBC Radio 3 at tonight at 6.15pm to hear The Smith String Quartet play Poppy's Hatch. Then on Friday 17 April (7.30pm) and Saturday 18 April (3.00pm and 7.30pm) hear Jelly, a new score for electronics, percussion and piano for Julia Bardsley's Aftermaths: A Tear In The Meat Of Vision at the Laban Centre in Greenwich.

On Sunday 19 APRIL, Definitely Disco premiers, a new short string quartet to be played by five different string quartets. "A battle of the quartets!" Part of the International String Quartet Festival at Trinity College of Music in Greenwich at 1.30pm and followed at 7.30pm by a Smith String Quartet concert including a performance of Hatch.

On Wednesday 22 April, Jelly is at the Trouble Festival in Brussels. And on Thursday 14 May, hear pieces from the recently released And The Shuffle Of Things at The Round House in London as when Andrew Poppy appears alongside Holger Czukay of CAN as part of the Short Circuit Season.
